Hi everyone! I am deep into the GP project which should “go live” Monday. Still have lots to get done on it, so this will be short.

I uploaded some more pictures to Webshots — hope you enjoy my little creature who visited me yesterday.

We also had a visitor the other day that I was unable to capture on disc as he didn’t hang around long  enough for me to grab the camera. It was about a 4-1/2′ long black snake. I was very surprised and pleased that Ken didn’t immediately run for a shovel to try to kill it as they are SO beneficial. He was such a handsome specimine, too! Very shiny black and alert — as I approached, he raised his head up about 6″ to make sure I wasn’t going to attack him. Once he decided that I was benign, he went off into the woods. I’m not sure Ken agreed with my assessment of his beauty, but at least he didn’t turn tail and run which was something he would have done not too long ago. My dear hubby seems to be mellowing out a bit. I’m quite sure he would still NEVER touch a snake, but at least his overwhelming fear of them has come under control.

Well, duty calls….

Love to all,

Margaret

Good morning everyone! I’m sittin here at my desk watching a trio of Cardinals at the feeder and a hummingbird buzzing around the hummingbird feeder outside my window. It’s a lovely, clear morning, but I think it’s going to get pretty hot later today.

Ken’s in the shower right now and after I’ve had mine, we’ll go out for breakfast. I don’t know what we’ll do the rest of today, but I’m sure we’ll find something. I would kind of like to see a movie, but really don’t know what is playing, so we’ll have to wait and see.

I got Mom’s plant waterers Friday. The sure are pretty! Makes me wish I had an indoor plant or two. Guess I’ll have to figure out something else to do with them.

Well, Ken’s out of the shower now, so I need to run. Talk later!

Back from breakfast and hav ebeen essing aroudn on this computer most of the day. Just playing iwth PSP and thinking about the next stationery script I want to write. Started making the images for it and got distracted by the birds outside. Since my Sony is on it’s way to the camera hospital, I dragged out the far inferior Kodak (that I’ve been trying to sell, but everyone else is smarter than I was and aren’t interested in it) and took a few shots.

I’ve uploaded them to my webshots album which you can find HERE. I did get a couple that are worth the look — well, at least I think they are.

I also tweaked on Suzel’s page some — http://www.kemar-k9s.com/SG/index.html if you have a minute — Judy — took your criticism to heart and darkened the font to give more contrast and finally got the code tweaked to give me some rounded corners on the text box area. They still aren’t AS round as I would like them, but every other solution seems to involve java script and I really want to stay away from that. Her site will need to be crawlable by the bots who do that for Google and Yahoo, so I want to keep it fairly clean — at least on the home page. I may try putting a division behind so I can simulate a drop shadow for it. I’m still waiting on her to get me some photos of collars like I asked for. She’s a bit dingy 🙁 and that may be awhile coming. I may just have to arrange to take the photos myself the next time I’m up in the Greensboro area.

Econz is finally back up, but I need to see what data I’m still missing as the area managers are reporting there is still some kind of disconnect.

Brian came this morning and did a couple of things, but we are still behind in the project.

I did complete one largish piece this morning when I came into work at 5:45 am.

Taji escaped his cage yesterday and went on a destructive rampage again. I have to go purchase a keyboard and mouse today 😥 and also drop the camera off to see if it can be repaired.

We need to have Cockatoo stew for dinner sometime soon, methinks.

Love to all,

Margaret

Econz is still down. They’ve sent me a total of 3 files each with 100 rows of data in them, but I’m currently showing over 600 calls completed within the last 48 hours, so they are WAY behind.

This is really bumming me out.

Home is normal (thank GOD!), so nothing new to report there.

Hope your day is going better than mine are!
Love to all,

Margaret

It’s Monday — boy howdy is it ever!

Our Econz reporting service went down over the weekend and we are limping along. Wes is out on vacation (I think he’s fishing offshore, so cell phones don’t reach) and I am on my own. I keep calling them, but so far, no progress.

Other than that, the weekend was pretty much of a bust for me. I had really good intentions of doing yard work, but everything I started got stopped by something I couldn’t take care of right then. The lawn mower got a flat tire, the weed eater ran out of string and although I got some weeds pulled, there are still a lot more to get up. The only thing I managed to finish was laundry (at least until Ken got home) and dishes (again, at least until Ken got home).

I did finish my final scripting lesson, but didn’t hear back from the teacher —  maybe she was out of town for the weekend. I also did a couple of tutorials, but those were just for fun. I got outbid on a SQL book on Ebay (bummer) and no one has called on my ads for the bird cages.

Here’s hoping the rest of the week improves.

Love to all,

Margaret

Oh dear! It seems that I have not written at all this week! I am SUCH a bad person!

I took Monday and Tuesday off for vacation days, but ended up working from home most of Monday while Ken worked on our latest home improvement project — ripping out the bathtub in the master bathroom and installing a shower in it’s place. He continued working on it Tuesday as we met with some difficulties with the kit — parts of it were defective and we had to take part of it back to Home Depot for replacement parts so that we could complete the project. It is up and working thanks to Ken’s perserverance and he is now in Charlotte spending the rest of his vacation week at the Lowes Motor Speedway where he has tickets to the All-Star race Saturday. He’ll be home Sunday and in the mean time, I’m bacheloretting it 😛

I have all kinds of things to keep me busy — besides the normal laundry and house cleaning, I need to mow the yard and weed the garden. I started weed-eating down at the ditch last night, but couldn’t keep that up for too long as the vibration from the weed-eater really made my wrists ache. I’ll try to finish that up tonight so I can do the mowing Saturday. I started laundry this morning and there isn’t much (thank goodness!). I also have some stationery scripts to write — one is a final for the class I am taking and the others are just for my own entertainment. I also have some stuff to do for work, but it’s more of a launch the program and leave it alone while it runs.

Last Thursday, when I got home from work, Nell greeted me at the end of her run with her left hind leg ripped open from hip to hock. Needless to say, I ran her to the emergency vet who stitched her up. She’s been on crate rest ever since and is doing really well. She hasn’t messed with her stitches at all and there are what looks like hundreds of them, but the vet did a beautiful job on her as I really didn’t think she could pull the edges together since the wound was so big and so old by the time I found her. Thankfully, it didn’t bleed very much as it was just skin that was torn! I did take pictures of the wound and the stitch job which I will post later. (Writing from work and don’t have the photos here)

So, now you are caught up with our lives 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Love to all,

Margaret

This will be a short one as I have a lot on my plate this morning.

Rio has come to spend a few weeks with us while his “mommy” is taking a 3 week trip — she’ll be in Germany for 2 weeks and out west for a week. Rio is one of the whippets we bred who is nearing his 10th birthday. So far he’s doing well. He misses her, but is eating and hanging out with the girls and being a good boy.

Got to run

Love to all,

Margaret

Well, it was a working weekend for me. I started a process on Saturday and let it run to completion, then did a lot of manual work on Sunday to get a bunch of part numbers rolled into some other part numbers as they were duplicates. That took all day.

I also did a mountain of laundry.

Ken worked Saturday, and yesterday he did a few things around the house (took the garbage to the dump and fixed a gate on one of the kennel runs), but spent the afternoon watching the race on t.v. He begins a week’s vacation next Sunday. We were initailly planning on driving to Ohio on Saturday, spending Sunday with Chris, Gina and the kids and driving back on Monday, but Chris says he can’t get off work on Sunday, so they will come and visit us later in the summer. I took two days off, and will probably still take them off as I have some things I need to do (like go to the tax office in Abbeville) that just can’t be done before or after work or during a lunch hour.

I see where Ma had an exciting trip to Kentucky! She didn’t say much about her visit, more about the actual getting there, but I’m sure she had a good time with Betty.

Well, I’m meeting Clyde at 10:00 so he can put some software in, so guess I had best go.

Love to all,

Margaret

We did get some rain last night, but not a lot…..we need more, but guess we will be grateful for what we did get. It’s supposed to rain more today, but I haven’t seen any so far.

Ken works tomorrow and I have to also work. I do want to take a couple of hours to run to Anderson for the dog show tomorrow afternoon as the Chihuahua Club will be having a meeting. It should be a short one as it doesn’t really look like there is much of an entry, so there won’t be a lot of members. I want to bring up a couple of things and hopefully there will be a quorum at least so we can get a bit of business done.

I also have all the “normal” stuff that I do on the weekend from laundry to general cleaning — NOT my favorite thing to do.

Guess I need to get back to work….no rest for the weary as they say!

Love to all,

Margaret

Another glorious sunrise this morning and camera is at the house where it does me no good. Someday I will be prepared to capture that on disc 🙂

Meeting all day today with Brian to hopefully put the last touches on the GP project. I have 3 benchmarks to meet before I can go “live” with part of it and really hope they are close if not already met. Needless to say, this will be very short as he is due here in 30 minutes and I haven’t even had a cup of coffee yet this morning 😥

We are supposed to have rain the next 3 days. I sure hope so as we are so dry! While I don’t relish storms usually, if that’s the only way we can get rain, then bring them on.

Had some excitement last night. The lady Charlotte and I got some cresteds from (and to whom I have returned mine) came down with her daughter, pushed Charlotte to the ground, ripped all her phones out of the walls and stole her dog. Police were called and warrants for their arrest were issued. Needless to say, Charlotte is terrified and I am somewhat worried about the safety of my animals with me not there. I hope they apprehended the two of them and this all gets straightened out.

Love to all,

Margaret
