Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend.

Ken actually was off the entire weekend! I almost didn’t know what to do with him home all weekend, but I figured it out .

I had a seminar to go to Saturday, then went over to a friends house to get her help on something. I didn’t get home until nearly 6 pm, so it was a long day for me. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Ken had repaired the floor in the bathroom (we found part of it was rotten where the bathtub had been — fortunately, not in the corner where the new shower was going, so we could put off replacing that section until we had time to do it). He did a marvelous job on it! Usually, he’s not too steady with the skill saw, and we end up with some wavy edges, but he got it nearly perfect this time! It looks great!

Since I can’t find my tile any more, I’m just going to put some rugs over the plywood — otherwise I will have to replace the entire tile floor which just is too much right now.

Ken also put together the shelves we bought to go in that corner. They look really nice and it’s going to be so nice to have somewhere besides under the sink to put towels, soap, and the like.

Sunday, we went out to breakfast, then into Greenville to do some shopping. I needed to buy dog food and bird food from PetSmart and disenfectant from Sam’s Club, so we got back home around noon. I finished up laundry while he watched the race, then started on my kennels, he fed the dogs when I finished, then I fixed our dinner. I went to bed around 8:30 as I was just so tired! He didn’t come for another hour or so which is very unusual for him. Then it was back to the routine this morning when the alarm went off at 3:45.

It’s been raining all night and most of this morning. I hope those of you west of me are getting some, but not as much as those in the mid west are! Don’t need to have any of you evacuated for flooding!

The goldfinches have found my sock feeder at last! It’s wonderful to see their sunny selves out there gorging on the thistle seed!

The past several evenings have had us visited by a lone deer. He/She grazes at the clearing beside the kennel — completely oblivious to the dogs raging in their runs, but acutely aware of any other movement. I managed to snap a couple of photos of him/her before he melted back into the woods. Ken spotted a fawn at the bottom of the front yard last night, but it was gone by the time I got my camera.

Well, that’s about it for me. I hope you have a wonderful week and a Happy 4th! As of right now, we don’t have anything planned to do, but that may change.

Take care!

Love to all,

Margaret
