Hello everyone! Tomorrow Ken and I leave for Charleston and the first dog show of the year. We both took Friday off from work so we would have plenty of time to get to Charleston, set up and go spend some time with John, Pam and their family. I’m excited about this show despite the fact that it’s tiny — only 15 or 16 whippets entered which means there won’t be enough points for Butterfly to finish provided she even wins, but then again, there won’t be much pressure either.  We also have Tigger, Nell and Teddy entered.

I’ve been clicker training the birds and Nell. Taji is now giving me a consistent high 5 with one foot, Riley is calmer and allowing me to scratch his head without trying to bite and Billy is beginning touching the target stick. Nell is showing ears consistently and that’s a really good thing as her lackadasical attitude is her biggest downfall in the ring. She’s a very humble acting dog anyway and very soft, so you can’t correct her at all without totally destroying her confidence. I want to start clicker training Saber next week. I only hope he has brain enough to comprehend 🙂

Well, I guess I need to actually do some work today. Vacation doesn’t start until 4:00 pm and it’s only 8:15, so I’m being very slack.

Have a great day!

Love to all,

Margaret

The weekend wasn’t long enough. I still have a lot to do to get ready for the Charleston shows next weekend, but had to go to Charlotte Sunday for a meeting. I worried that I would be making the trip in vain as the weather was “iffy” and I wasn’t sure we would have a quorum since I couldn’t get in touch with several of the members, but there was enough and so we had a nice productive meeting and I got back home around 3:30 pm. Only got rained on a little bit. Now I have a small project to complete, but that shouldn’t take long to do.

Got in this morning to find a lot in disarray. Carlos upgraded Citrix Saturday and had a lot of trouble with it. He sent everyone e-mails, but since most of them have to log into Citrix to get their email, they didn’t know what the problem was. We’re still working on things this morning but hopefully will have all problems solved by lunch time.

I’m still coughing and sneezing some, but it’s much better and I think Ken feels better, too. He’s also coughing and still has several days on his medication, but I don’t think he was quite as sick as I was, either. Anyway, I’m glad we’re both feeling better!

Pam is supposed to let us know when Bebe’s competition is next Saturday. This will be her first gymnastic competition since she began gymnastics last year. We’re looking forward to seeing her compete!

Well, I need to get back to my fires. You all take care and stay healthy!

Love to all,

Margaret

It started sleeting last night around 8:00 pm, but the ground was still warm, so nothing accumulated and this morning at the house was just rain. When I got closer to work (about when I hit the interstate), it turned to freezing rain, but the roadway and ground was still too warm for it to stay frozen, so the ride in was not bad at all. The parking lot wasn’t even frozen (since it’s elevated, that was going to be the weak spot), so I didn’t have to skate across it to the stairs.

Ken’s going to the doctor today. He stayed home from work as he really feels miserable, poor baby. He even told them at work not to look for him until Sunday unless he makes a big turn-around in how he feels.

Now I just hope we don’t catch that stomach virus that’s going around that was on the news last night.

That’s all for us.

Love to all,

Margaret

I’m slowly getting better while Ken is slowly getting worse. I really fell bad that he’s caught my virus (although from what he says, there are plenty at work who already had it as well). He may be staying home for the next 3 days instead of only taking Saturday off as he originally planned.

I’m planning to go to Charlotte on Sunday for a Chihuahua Club meeting and match. Have spent the last couple of days trying to organize people to be stewards at the Greenville Obedience and Rally trials. Between us, we need 14 stewards to man the 4 rings all day long. I’ve scraped up 8 so far, so maybe by show day, I’ll have enough. And I wanted this job why??

Weather here is cold, but no precipitation. I don’t know if that’s going to change over the next couple of days or not. I hope not. I don’t mind the cold, but hate ice, sleet and am not fond of snow if I have to drive in it.

Well, that’s all for me today. Hope your day is going well.

Love to all,

Margaret

I am back in the land of the living. Still snuffling and coughing, but alive and getting better. I sure hope Ken manages to not catch this, but don’t see how he can avoid it with everyone at his work having it and then me, too.

Came back to work (actually, I worked from home yesterday to start getting caught up) to the usual whining and complaining. Trying to tune it out, but not being too successful at that.

Placed a dog over the weekend. Stan — the dog we got back from the lady in NC — went to a new home Saturday afternoon. Checked on him yesterday and all is well. The couple is really nice and seem very devoted. Stan’s going to be one spoiled rotten “kid”.

Now, if I could just find a home for Maggie, we would be doing just great.

Hope Colin and Becky are thawing out!

Love to all,

Margaret

Well, the Doc says strep is going around, my throat is like ground meat so I’m on antibiotics and cough syrup 2x per day. Stayed at home today and have spent the morning sleeping and reading and playing card games on the computer (and losing most of them ).

I did log in to work a couple of times just to make sure there were no fires and will check in again in a little bit.

It’s windy and cold today. No birds at the feeder which is disappointing.

That’s about it for me.

Stay healthy!

Love to all,

Margaret

Good morning everyone! I hope y0u all had a wonderful weekend!

My weekend? Well, spent Saturday cleaning and reorganizing my office (along with laundry and all the other stuff I usually do on Saturday). It’s not complete yet, but is about 2/3rds of the way done. I also need to reorganize my dog paperwork.

Sunday I spent reading and doing a little computer work, but wasn’t feeling well, so took it easy all day. I didn’t even get out of pjs until after Ken got home and we went down to Charlotte’s for a few minutes to give her a birthday card and gift. I put a pork loin in the crock pot along with some potatoes and onion soup mix and mushroom soup and we had that with a salad for dinner.

Got up this morning with a raging sore throat and headache. I’ll call the doctor later to see if I can get in to see him. I did come in to work, but don’t know if I’ll stay all day as I really don’t feel well.

Have a great day!

Love to all,

Margaret

Ahhhhhhh….. that magical day….FRIDAY combined with that other magical day…..PAYDAY!! 😛

Ours is rainy, foggy and overcast, but warm. I have crickets chriping like crazy and frogs sounding down at the creek. It’s a lovely sound to relax to in the evening. I have flower bulbs putting up greenery and hope that they don’t get killed with a frost now. This has sure been a wierd winter for weather! I think it’s that way all over the world. Some of my online friends who live in New Zealand report that their summer has, so far been wet and cold. I also heard on the radio yesterday that the British Weather Service is forcasting record high temperatures for the summer of 2007. That doesn’t bode well for my electric bill 😥 Guess I will just have to suck it up and deal with it.

I’ll be working on Great Plains security all week next week. That’s about as thrilling as watching paint dry on the wall. I also need to finish the Sharp billing piece. Another boring task. Makes me pray for emergencies 🙂 (not really).

Well, guess I should go and begin reading about security….

Love to all,

Margaret

Hello everyone! I hope your day is going well.

I had a busy night last night with work calling me twice — once at 10:00 pm and again around 1:00 am — I’m a little sleep deprived today.  Work has been crazy, too, wouldn’t you know? They are training two areas on the Eservice software and so I’ve been kept busy with manipulating data all day. I’ve still got lots of old calls to get resolved before we close for December, so may have a long night tonight as well.

Ken got up grouchy, too, so I know the phone calls disturbed his rest as well. Hopefully tonight will be better and there won’t be so much disruption going on. I think he’s working all weekend this weekend, so he needs his rest.

It’s overcast today, but warm and the weather report is calling for thundershowers tomorrow. I could do without that, but guess I must take what Nature gives.

Got to run…

Love to all,

Margaret

Had a nice long chat with Ma last night. I’ve missed our weekly conversations. The short talk we had Christmas Day was just not enough.

I hope Colin and Becky had an uneventful drive back to St. Louis.

My boss is out of the office today. He’s in Philly doing some training with the techs up there on EService. I guess I will be turning them on sometime later today or tomorrow. Then he’ll go to Chicago for training there.

Not much else to say today. It’s been cold at night and warm during the day the last couple of days, but I understand that will change beginning tonight and we’re in for rain. That kind of depresses me, but we need rain now and again. We just had some this past weekend, though and I’m ready for pretty weather to last awhile. The dogs don’t like cold, rainy weather either.

Well, I need to run.

Love to all,

Margaret
