TGIF! Looking forward to a lovely weekend at least weather-wise. I have no firm plans for the days, so we’ll just take them as they come. There is certainly plenty to do around the homestead.
I probably should run up to Inman to check on Kathy. She was supposed to be having more tests on her brain for blood clots. She’s had 3 strokes now and is also now having epileptic siezures. Since she’s unable to work, her phone has been cut off as has her internet, so I’m unable to phone or email her.
We have 2 weeks until our move to the new building. We are supposed to go over there this afternoon to see it. It will be nice seeing it before I actually have to claim my space. No one I’ve talked to yet has been able to tell me where I’ll be located, though. I’m sure I’ll have a spot, though.
My boss gave me a picture. It’s one that’s been hanging on the 4th floor as long as I’ve worked here and I loved it from the get-go. It’s a picture of a snowy egret and it’s titled “White Heron”. Upon closer examination, it’s a numbered Audubon print (#42). I don’t know if it’s worth anything, but I don’t care as it’s value for me lies totally in it’s beauty. Little did I know when I asked for it, that it would fit so perfectly in my home. The colors of the picture and matting blend perfectly with my colorscheme and the picture is quite large and commanding and looks fantastic on my living room wall. I’ll have to photograph it for you so you can see for yourselves.
Well, it’s time I got to work.
Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Love to all,
Margaret

What a glorious morning I woke up to! Crisp fall air, a beautiful, clear sky with the big dipper in blazing glory overhead. An awakening chorus of birdsong echoing my delight with the morning’s promise. If our weather prognosticator is to be believed, the high today will be in the low 70’s — how refreshing! And this weather pattern is supposed to hold over through the weekend. That is so lovely! The only thing missing are the colorful leaves that we usually have by now. I’m afraid the drought and hot weather is going to circumvent that event this year and I will miss it so.
I have nothing much planned for this weekend. Ken is working (as far as I know), so I will have plenty of time to get some things done without him being underfoot or distracting me from my chosen task.
I have all my stuff packed and removed from my cube in preparation of our move to the new building. That will take place on the 25th/26th. I just have my radio and some books left to pack and those along with my computer will have to wait until the day of the move as I use them daily.
Guess I should get on with my latest report.
Have a wonderful day!
Love to all,
Margaret

Good morning!
We woke up this morning to fog. While somewhat challenging to drive into work in, I welcome the fog for several reasons. It signals a change in our weather. It means the ground is warmer than the air temperature which means it’s cooler! It means there is moisture in the air which means it’s not so dry. After weeks of miserably high temperatures and very little in the way of moisture, these are very welcome changes! I worked on a poem this morning about the fog as I drove in, but its’ didn’t gel well yet, so no poetry for you today.
I talked to Eddie Monday and he’s doing fine after his knee surgery. He’s supposed to be doing some kind of CSF flow testing this week which is related to his other problem and then he will talk to a neurosurgeon about options.
I hear that Colin and Becky are coming down this way (well, kinda) soon. I hope they have a safe trip!
That’s all my news!

Happy Columbus Day!! Hope you’re all having an adventurous day!
Saturday was a fortuitous day for the Hounds of Kemar. We went to Augusta with hopes for a good day and it did not disappoint. Payne (Crested girl) was Winners Bitch for a single point giving her a total of 4 (it takes 15, so she’s on her way), then waited around for what seemed like forever for time for Whippets to go in. Tigger was Reserve Winners to yet a third puppy — very discouraging for Ken, but since Tigger looks little more than a puppy himself, it’s hard to do any better — his day will come…. Butterfly was again Winners for one point giving her 13. I’m just so proud of them both as it was a long day for them since we had to be there early for Cresteds and Whippets weren’t until 1:30 and didn’t actually go in the ring until nearly 2:30 as there were so many before them in that time slot. They held up well and showed well, though.
Ken was off yesterday and spent the day watching t.v. once we got home from eating breakfast and going to Sam’s Club and Walmart.
I did a little housework (vac, laundry) and groomed some dogs that needed it. Played a little on the computer as I was tagged for this weeks’ provider of tutorial site, script and graphics for one of the stationery groups I’m in. I’m thinking seriously of dumping the one as there is so little participation in it and the group owner is so boring with her choices of themes, etc. One I keep getting asked to join is too busy and I don’t have time for it. This one that I just did the tag for seems to be just right — oh dear! That sounds so much like goldilocks!!
Are any of you doing scrapbooking? I’m not, but have stumbled across some blogs that are devoted to it. Some of those people are major talented!
Have not heard from Eddie about his knee surgery, so I’m assuming all went well with it. I will try to call them later just to make sure.
Our diet is going pretty well. Ken and I have both lost some weight — don’t know how much he’s lost total, but I’m down about 6 pounds. Not too bad for a weeks’ worth of dieting!
Well, I guess I should get back to work.
Take care!

Good morning and TGIF! Another week has gone by and we are still here, writing and reading.
It rained yesterday! YAHOO! A nice soaking rain, too. I can hear it in the birdsong that this rain is so welcome! It’s taking a bit longer for the plants to respond as they are so parched, but I believe I see a tiny bit of greening to them and a “plumping” of the leaves. It’s supposed to rain more today and tomorrow, but honestly and truthfully, we need several weeks of rain (not that I really WANT weeks of rain, but several days followed by cool weather followed by several days of rain would work OK).
Got to get back to work — sorry this is so short.

Happy Thursday everyone! Another week is almost shot.
Saturday I go to Augusta for a one day dog show. I have 3 dog entered — Tigger, Butterfly and Payne. We will see if we do anything. I’m not real sure of the Crested judge – she’s been around awhile and I’ve both one and lost under her although I’ve only ever shown her Whippets and a Chihuahua before. I don’t know the Whippet judge at all, but that’s OK as I often do well under those 😛
Ken is once again working all weekend.
I may be going to GA Sunday as I’ve had a lady express some interest in the puff boy I have for sale. We will see what her application looks like.
I’m working on reports these next couple of days. Wes is wanting two created that will automatically e-mail to the individual it needs to go to. We’ll see what happens.
Very short one today as there really is not much going on. News is depressing on the world front for the most part.
We are supposed to have thunderstorms today. We sure can use the rain, but I’m afraid it still won’t be enough.
Love to all,
Margaret

Last night’s meeting was VERY interesting (at least to me), but I won’t bore you with any details. Just know that it was time well spent on my part.
We are actively beginning to pack up and get ready for our physical move of the office to the new building. I guess I will begin trekking personal stuff home so there will be less to take over and sort out there. Knowing me, it will probably rattle around in the car for awhile, perhaps even to being slogged up to the new digs once we’ve settled in. I don’t really have that much — mostly pictures and books and I do use many of the books daily, so will leave those until the last minute.
I’m getting excited about getting out of here. For the last 2 years, there has been no hot water and for the last couple of months, one of the toilets in the ladies rest room on the 4th floor has been out of commission. That’s been a real pain in the butt to deal with. Now the 4th floor restroom is starting to smell sewagey, so I don’t even want to go in it anymore, but can’t always run downstairs, so must deal with it as best I can. I’m hoping the new digs’ restrooms are more hygenic and have hot water!
Did you hear about the SC man who, when he lost his leg in an airplane accident, put the leg in a smoker and kept it in a storage building? When he could no longer make the payments on the storage unit, the contents were auctioned off with smoker containing the leg still inside and the new “owner” is now in a custody battle over the leg, but is selling tickets to view it to any who will buy. New Jeff Foxworthy “You Might Be A Redneck If” line — You might be a redneck if you keep your amputated body parts in a smoker grill. 😛
On another wierd but true note, we have a service call to the Helmsley Hotel for which the notes state the call must be signed for by the dog 😆 — don’t know if that’s for real from the customer or just a call-taker’s sense of humor, but it made the company headlines this morning. (If you don’t know, Ms. Helmsley’s dog was left several million dollars and the hotel in her will).
It looks like we might get some rain today. It’s definitely cloudy and feels like rain, but we’ll have to wait and see if it happens. I know we desperately need some!
Well, that’s all my news today.
Love to all,
Margaret

Good morning all!
I hear Sis #2 has a toothache and is headed to the dentist today for some relief. I know how Ken suffererd from his teeth, so feel for you Sis. Crummy way to spend your pre-birthday days. I also hear you have a new ‘puter! It’s so lovely when they are squeaky clean and new.
How about our Mom?!? She de-installed and re-installed her printer all by herself! She will soon be telling us how to keep our computers clean and up to date! I’m so proud of her!
Eddie says he’s having his knee worked on later this week. I know that’s been troubling him for over a month now, so I’m glad he’s finally getting some relief from that!
I’m working from home today as I have an SSIG meeting tonight that I don’t want to miss. Topic is setting up a cube — really cool stuff!
My hummingbirds seem to have abandoned me. I haven’t seen any at my feeder in nearly a week now. It seems awfully early for them to have already flown south for the winter.
The deer are not so absent, though. I’m seeing larger groups of them in the yard in the
evening — guess it’s getting to be their mating season. There is one doe that comes that has to be the ugliest deer I’ve ever seen! She is horribly knock-kneed in the front and has a head like a mule. She has two fawns with her that are going to be just as ugly as she is. Poor things! You can see her ugly head in this photo.
Well, that’s all my news for today. Hope you have a happy day!

Margaret

October 1st! This year is flying by!
Yesterday was a red-letter day for me (and Ken). Our Whippet girl, Butterfly was Best Bred-By in Show. That was so exciting! I’m still on Cloud 9! Butterfly is the same as if nothing ever happened, but that’s a dog for you 😆 I will share the photograph with you when it comes in a couple of weeks. I more than likely look like a troll thanks to the long day, windy weather (it was an outdoor show) and the fact that my hairspray failed within an hour of arrival at the show site at 7:30 am and the photo was taken at 3:15 pm :P, but I’m POSITIVE Butterfly looks gorgeous!
The countdown to move has started. Wes is making arrangements for moving trucks, etc and Jerry’s wife has been ordering furniture, a new phone system and lots of other things for the new office. I’m still worried about the servers being moved and set up properly, but have been assured that it will all go off without a hitch. 🙄 — call me a worry wart, but in my experience, nothing ever goes exactly as planned.
That’s my report for today!

Well, the “procedure” went well and I am totally clean (in more ways than one!!). The doctor’s parting words were “see you in 5 years” and he MIGHT get lucky, but then again, he might not. The procedure itself was a piece of cake, but the getting ready for it was awful. I didn’t react well to the stuff he prescribed to do the deed, so I hope he’s marked my chart accordingly.
Well, that makes me healthy for this year at least 🙂
Today’s dog show saw Payne winning her class, but not in the Winners ring, Tigger going Reserve Winners Dog and Butterfly finishing third in her class. Tomorrow is another day as they say.
Not a lot else to tell. It feels like Sunday, but I’m glad it’s only Saturday. I need another week’s vacation to get over my vacation 😛
Love to all,
Margaret
