The air has a crisp texture to it that is so welcome after the wet-blanket heat we&#8217;ve been sufferring. Still no rain in the forecast, though and we are SO dry! Lakes, rivers and streams are so far down, it&#8217;s scary. The wild birds are emptying my feeder like they do in the dead of winter &#8212; usually this time of year, they are eating all the natural harvest from the woods, but there just isn&#8217;t much to eat out there.<\/p>\n<p>Deer season opened last Saturday &#8212; early for us as it&#8217;s not usually open until the first frost. Guess it&#8217;s because there are so many deer that they need thinning pretty badly.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m also seeing more road kill lately in the form of oppossums and raccoons.<\/p>\n<p>Working from home today so that I can put the final touches on a project without the usual distractions of people chatting around my cube and Wes calling me every 5 minutes to show me something or ask for something. It&#8217;s coming along fairly well, thank goodness! Of course before I could get that going, I had to do a &#8220;quickie&#8221; for Wes, but thankfully I already had something similar so just had to make a couple of changes and voila! Instant report.<\/p>\n<p>Got to run. This will be my last post this week.
